A new Aadhaar Seva Kendra, operating under the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) of the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, was inaugurated by Collector M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran in Rmanathapuram district on Friday.
Following the inauguration, the Collector inspected the facility, reviewed its operations, and inquired with officials about the services and basic amenities provided to the public.
Functioning under the direct supervision of UIDAI, the newly established centre is designed to offer secure and efficient Aadhaar services under one roof. Citizens can utilise the facility for a range of essential services, including new Aadhaar registrations, demographic updates, biometric updates (photographs, fingerprints, and iris scans), and error corrections.
Categorised as a Model-C facility, the centre is equipped with four high-specification workstations to streamline service delivery. To ensure accessibility for all residents—including persons with disabilities—basic amenities such as ramp access, restroom facilities, and a dedicated grievance redressal desk have been established. Additionally, a supervisor has been appointed to coordinate with relevant authorities for the swift resolution of public grievances.
The Aadhaar Seva Kendra is equipped to operate seven days a week, excluding government public holidays, providing residents of the district with convenient and centralised access to Aadhaar-related services.
