A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital after a Pizza Hut sign fell on him on a busy London high street.
The man was walking on Southall Broadway past the takeaway when the shopfront came falling down at around 11am on Wednesday.
Shoppers rushed to his aid and tried to pull him to safety.
Shocked onlookers can be seen calling paramedics to the scene as others speak to the man lying in the street.
It appears the entire sign collapsed onto the street.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: ‘We were called at 11.09am today (21 October) to reports of an incident on South Road, Southall.
‘We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and a clinical team manager.
‘We treated a man at the scene and took him to hospital as a priority.’
A Pizza Hut spokesperson said: ‘We are aware of a serious incident that took place at one of our franchise delivery huts in Southall today.
‘We are very concerned to hear what has happened, and our thoughts are with those affected.
‘We are in close contact with the franchisee and, as the situation is still ongoing, we are unable to comment further at this stage.’
Last year, a Pizza Hut franchisee announced it was going into administration.
