Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother, revealing that she passed away after a prolonged battle with illness.
The actress disclosed the sad news on Monday through her official Instagram page, where she shared photographs of her late mother and paid an emotional tribute to her.
In her announcement, Ade expressed grief over the loss while acknowledging her submission to the will of Almighty Allah. She also offered prayers for the repose of her mother’s soul and asked for strength to cope with the painful loss.
“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness,” the actress wrote.
Actress offers prayers for late mother
Adunni Ade, in her tribute, prayed that Allah would forgive her mother’s shortcomings, show her mercy and grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
She also prayed for strength and patience for the family as they come to terms with the loss.
“Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen,” she wrote.
The actress noted that her late mother left behind children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones who would continue to cherish her memory.
She further expressed her love for her mother, praying that they would be reunited in paradise.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen,” she added.
Adunni Ade also disclosed that details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course.
Colleagues, fans sympathise with actress
The announcement has attracted condolence messages from colleagues, friends and fans, many of whom have offered prayers and words of encouragement to the grieving actress.
Actor Yemi Solade expressed sympathy for the family, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased.
“Accept sincere condolences from me….May the soul of your mother be accepted by her creator and rest it in eternal peace. Amen. Take heart, ADUNNIADE,” he wrote.
Actress Sophie Alakija also commiserated with Adunni Ade, writing, “So sorry for your loss, mama.”
Other entertainment personalities, including Eso Dike, Damilola Oni, Rotimi Salami and Linda Osifo, also joined in expressing sympathy and praying for the departed.
The messages of condolence reflect the support surrounding the actress as she mourns the loss of her mother.
