This Is Our Biggest Gifting Hack of the Year

there’s a time and place for real diamonds—natural diamonds is what we’re supposed to call them. But how many times a year does your wife, girlfriend, or mother put on a $10,000 natural diamond tennis bracelet? If your goal is to get her something she will use and love, you might not want to get another holiday gift that’s going to collect dust in her jewelry box. Our quiet little hack is to spend marginally less, and to do so with good taste. How do you do that, exactly? Go to Ring Concierge’s lab-grown diamonds.

Sure, you might not love the thought of giving your wife lab-grown diamonds. It challenges your, “I’m supposed to spend as much money on her as possible,” masculinity complex. (For what it’s worth, there are worse manifestations of masculinity out there; spend big if you like.) But we want to re-frame your thinking about lab-grown diamonds. They’re not any less beautiful than the natural ones. But because of their price and (lack of) provenance, they are so much more wearable.

That, reader, makes all the difference. A tennis bracelet she will actually wear while playing tennis—could there ever be a greater luxury?

If you were to spend triple on natural stones, there’s the chance that she would be afraid to really wear them. They’d become special occasion jewelry. That’s totally fine: You have a tuxedo and she has a gown, these things have their place. But we think there’s something so incredible about the everyday luxury you can get with lab-grown.

For a special touch, Ring Concierge offers engravable options, so you can inscribe a name, initials, or a special date. Another customizable design lets you add up to five birthstones to celebrate the special people or dates in your life.

Lab-grown diamonds make larger stones more attainable, but that doesn’t mean you should automatically pick the largest carat size in your price range. Stick to understated classics she can mix and match with other heirlooms in her jewelry collection. Instead of going bigger, grab her a matching set of diamond stud earrings.
