DIMAPUR, OCT 23 (NPN): Ao Senden has rejected the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department’s response to its ultimatum over issues concerning Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung, and reiterated its demands, setting October 31, 2026, as the deadline for compliance.
In a reply letter submitted to the principal director, H&FW, through the medical superintendent of IMDH, Ao Senden vice president Aowati and general secretary Imtipokyim stated that its primary demand was the implementation of the August 19, 2026, notification concerning the deployment of a radiologist at the hospital.
Questioning the department’s inaction, Ao Senden asked why a similar directive had not been issued to release the incoming radiologist from District Hospital Phek for deployment at IMDH Mokokchung, when an earlier order dated September 7, 2026, had directed the release of a senior radiologist from IMDH.
Senden reiterated that nothing short of a radiologist would be acceptable at IMDH. It also demanded that all doctors and nurses attached to other establishments be detached and reverted to the hospital, as stated in its September 16 ultimatum.
Further, Ao Senden insisted that the shifting to the new Block A be carried out.
Describing the department’s inaction as unjustifiable, the organisation warned that it would escalate its agitation if the demands were not met.
Ao Senden urged the authorities to take the matter seriously and fulfil all demands by October 31, stating that the agitation would continue until compliance, with the possibility of further escalation in the event of continued inaction.
