✅ Thank you for completing the survey!

Finding good true wireless earbuds under Rs 999 used to mean settling for average sound and basic features. That is no longer the case. With boAt bringing spatial audio to the sub-₹999 segment, the brand is setting a new benchmark for what budget earbuds can offer. Its Airdopes Plus lineup, featuring the 222, 221 and 224, combines spatial audio, long battery life and smart call features at a price point where buyers increasingly expect more, brands still struggle to deliver the basics. Here is a breakdown of each one so you can figure out which fits you best.

boAt Airdopes Plus 222

The Airdopes Plus 222 is built for people who want a capable everyday earbud without spending too much. It uses dual 13mm drivers that handle everything from bass-heavy tracks to podcasts without sounding flat. Spatial audio gives your music a wider, more open feel, which is something you do not usually get at this price. Bluetooth 6.0 keeps the connection stable whether you are at your desk or moving around. It also supports the boAt Hearables app for device management and customisation, voice assistant access through Google Assistant or Siri, and multipoint connectivity to stay connected to two devices at once.

Key Features:

• 13mm dual drivers with spatial audio support
• Up to 60 hours total playback with 600 mAh charging case
• ASAP Charge: 10 minutes of charge gives 150 minutes of playtime
• BEAST Mode with 55ms low latency for gaming
• AI ENx technology with 2 mics per earbud for noise cancellation
• Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connectivity
• IPX4 water and sweat resistance
• IWP technology for instant pairing
• boAt Hearables app support for device management and customisation
• Voice assistant support

One thing that stands out is the battery. Sixty hours of total playback is a lot, and the quick charge support means a short charge gets you through most of the day. If you game on your phone, the 55ms low latency mode keeps things smooth without any noticeable audio lag. The app adds useful control and customisation options, while voice assistant access and multipoint connectivity make it easier to switch between everyday tasks and devices.

Who should consider the Airdopes Plus 222?

It is worth considering if you want spatial audio, extended battery life, low-latency gaming and app-based customisation in one pair of budget TWS earbuds.

boAt Airdopes Plus 221

The Airdopes Plus 221 covers the same ground as the 222 but gives you more control over how your earbuds behave. The touch controls are fully customisable through the boAt Hearables app, so you can set them up to match how you actually use your earbuds rather than sticking with factory defaults. The dual mic noise cancellation works well on calls, cutting out most of the ambient noise before your voice reaches the other person.

Key Features:

• 13mm dual drivers with spatial audio
• Up to 60 hours total playback
• ASAP Charge: 10 minutes charge equals 150 minutes of playtime
• BEAST Mode with 55ms low latency
• AI ENx dual mic noise cancellation
• Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connectivity
• IPX4 rating for sweat and splash resistance
• Fully customisable touch controls via boAt Hearables app

Multipoint connectivity is a genuinely useful feature here. You can stay connected to your phone and laptop at the same time, so switching between devices does not require going into settings every single time. For anyone who works from home or switches between devices throughout the day, that alone makes a difference.

Who should consider the Airdopes Plus 221?

It will suit users who prioritise customisable touch controls, simultaneous connections to two devices and everyday convenience for work, entertainment and calls.

boAt Airdopes Plus 224

The Airdopes Plus 224 brings the same strong core specs to a slightly different package. It is available in three colours, Forest Green, Matte Black and Off White, which makes it the most visually distinct of the three. Beyond the looks, it carries 13mm drivers, spatial audio, boAt Signature Sound for an engaging audio experience, Bluetooth 6.0 and the same ASAP Charge technology that the other two offer.

Key Features:

• 13mm dynamic drivers with spatial audio and boAt Signature Sound
• Up to 60 hours total playback with 600 mAh case
• ASAP Charge: 10 minutes charge for 150 minutes of playtime
• BEAST Mode with 55ms low latency for gaming
• AI ENx dual mic noise cancellation
• Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connectivity
• IPX4 water resistance
• IWP technology for auto power on and instant connect

The 224 also comes with a 15 month warranty and a 7 day replacement guarantee. That kind of after-sales coverage is rare at this price and makes it a safer buy if you tend to worry about product longevity.

Who should consider the Airdopes Plus 224?

It is the best pick for buyers who want spatial audio and everyday connectivity features alongside a choice of colours. Check the current warranty and replacement terms on the official product page while purchasing.

Which one should you pick?

Each of these earbuds delivers more than you would expect for the price. The 222 is a reliable all-rounder. The 221 suits people who like to customize their experience and use multiple devices. The 224 is the one to go for if you want more colour options and stronger warranty coverage. Whichever you choose, spatial audio, long battery life and solid call quality are guaranteed.
