ⓘ 8BitDo
Months after its release, 8BitDo is now accepting pre-orders for its display-equipped Arcade Controller Pro. Available in two colors on Amazon and 8BitDo's online store, the controller will be released at the end of November.
A few weeks ago, we reported that 8BitDo's Arcade Controller Pro will be available to pre-order later this month, and 8BitDo has kept to its word this time. The controller, which was announced in June, now has a price tag and is available to pre-order.
The Arcade Controller Pro arrives as a more advanced version of the Arcade Controller, featuring a refined design, a different button layout with more programmable buttons than the standard version (and its Xbox edition), a display for on-the-fly customization, and a magnetic wrist rest. It is compatible with Windows and Nintendo Switch/Switch 2.
When it was announced, 8BitDo didn't reveal its price but said that pre-orders will begin in September. Unfortunately, it missed that date, resulting in a month's delay, and failed to offer an explanation for the postponement. Interestingly, the controller has been available to buy in China for weeks.
Nevertheless, the 8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro is finally available to pre-order for $119.99 on Amazon and the 8BitDo eShop. This is slightly more expensive than its CNY 699 (~$104) price in China, which also includes a free hard shell case for the controller. No free gift is included for the international version of the controller.
Buyers have the choice of two colors, which 8BitDo calls N Edition and White Edition. According to information on its website as well as on Amazon, the Arcade Controller Pro will be released and begin to ship on November 30. Let's hope that date isn't pushed back.
Each 8BitDo Arcade Pro Controller comes with a 2.4G adapter, a magnetic wrist rest, 3x additional switches, a switch puller, 5x lock caps for the programmable buttons, and a USB cable.
