Ethereum is trading at the $2,500 level as Tom Lee warns that Korea’s equity rout could spill into crypto, a bearish price prediction. The immediate question is whether forced selling can push ETH below $2,400, or whether that level can contain the damage. A sharp KOSPI drop is the trigger; ETF flows and leverage determine how far the shock travels.
South Korea’s KOSPI fell more than 6% on October 13 in a technology-led selloff, with emergency trading controls reportedly activated. Lee, chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies, identified margin liquidations at Korean brokerages as a transmission channel: investors facing equity margin calls may sell liquid assets such as Ether to raise cash.

Tom Lee believes South Korea’s stock market sell-off could be spilling over into crypto.
Here’s why this matters.
South Korea is a major crypto market, and when its stock market drops sharply, investors facing margin calls may be forced to sell other assets, including… pic.twitter.com/6hRM1luigT
ETH recently probed the $2,400 area before recovering toward $2,500, but the rebound has not cleared the broader pressure from leverage liquidations and uneven ETF demand. The price response now matters more than the warning alone: can support hold if Korean volatility persists?

ETH is actually holding steady at $2,500, with a 24-hour range of $2,495–$2,520. The broader recent range was wider, from $2,410 to $2,560, showing how quickly the market tested lower bids before stabilizing.
Support sits near $2,400; below it, $2,350–$2,360 is the next zone to watch. Resistance spans roughly $2,546–$2,600, with $2,666 a more meaningful recovery threshold. The setup remains fragile after a breakdown from higher levels. A seven-day model estimate near $2,504, with a projected range of $2,353–$2,666, offers little directional conviction.
If $2,400 holds, ETF flows stabilize, and ETH could reclaim $2,600. Or price consolidates around $2,500 while traders await macro data and clearer flow signals, but renewed Korean equity stress or persistent liquidations could break $2,400 and expose $2,350. The risk is not abstract: weekly U.S. spot Ether ETF outflows were reported at approximately $542.1 million.

If ETH loses $2,400, holders may face another round of forced de-risking; even a hold would not erase the weakness in momentum. That makes the distinction between a tactical bounce and a confirmed recovery important. Rotating attention toward early-stage infrastructure may appeal to traders seeking a different risk profile.
