A Celtic fan who made an offensive gesture to ex-Hearts star Lawrence Shankland has been banned from attending any football matches for two years.
Liam Connolly, 37, entered the Celtic Park pitch after his side were victorious against the Edinburgh club on May 16 this year.
The Hoops defeated Hearts 3-1 in a final day top of the table clash, which the hosts went on to win their 56th league title.
After the game, there was a mass pitch invasion from fans from the home support.
Court papers state Connolly, of Kirkcaldy, Fife, conducted himself in a disorderly manner.
The charge said that he formed part of a disorderly crowd and entered the field of play.
Connolly went on to approach the then Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, 31, and made an “offensive gesture” towards him.
The supporter was carrying a child unknown to the Crown when this took place.
Connolly pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to committing breach of the peace.
He was ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work and banned from football matches for two years.
Constable Ryan Beveridge said: “What followed at Celtic Park and towards the Trongate area of Glasgow after the final game of last season was completely unacceptable.
“We will not tolerate disorder and hostility of any kind and those involved will pay the consequences.”
