The Kentucky Wildcats return to Kroger Field tonight as they welcome the Vanderbilt Commodores to Lexington.
Sitting at 6-1 on the year, the Cats are looking to pick up one more win before they head into a bye week, and at that point, it would be one of the most important November games in the program’s history. However, they can not overlook a Vanderbilt program that’s had the Cats’ number as of late.
In last place in the SEC, Vanderbilt has had a rough season so far. They feature former 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis, who has the talent, but is gaining experience as they go in conference play. This is why it is important for Jay Bateman and this defense to put the pressure on him quickly tonight.
On offense, it simply comes down to not turning the ball over once again. The biggest way you lose games you are heavily favored in is by turnovers. So if you want to really put the pressure on the Commodores, make them make the most of the possessions they get.
The last several years have not been kind to UK in this matchup. It’s time to get that changed today and keep those College Football Playoff hopes alive.
