Cam Little proved to be the hero for the Jacksonville Jaguars with his game-winning field goal against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium encouraged several Jaguars players to reference famous soccer stars like Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland.
But Little may have rubbed salt in the wounds of Spurs fans with his apparel choices during his post-game press conference.
Cam Little sports classic Manchester United jersey after London win for Jaguars
Speaking to reporters after the game, Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little sported a classic 2007-08 Manchester United jersey in his post-game press conference.
He revealed his fandom of soccer and how dedicated he was to the sport, and how the game-winner in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium allowed him to fulfil a childhood dream.
Little said: “It gives me goosebumps because I woke up every Saturday morning, watching the Premier League. Every Saturday.
“Then, to play soccer from ages 5-16. I didn’t touch a football till I was almost 17. My whole life was soccer up to that point.
“To do it in that stadium, it feels like I’ve achieved my goal of playing professional soccer, even though I’m playing pro football. In my career, excluding overtime, that’s my first walk-off game-winner I have ever hit.”
Of course, what makes these comments even more interesting was Little’s choice of clothing during the post-game press conference.
Little was wearing Manchester United’s away jersey from the 2007-08 season, the year they won the UEFA Champions League.
For fans of the Premier League, the jersey choice becomes even more fitting when you consider that Tottenham Hotspur, whose stadium the Jaguars were playing in, had just tied against Manchester United the day before with a thrilling last-minute goal courtesy of Dominic Solanke.
One has to wonder whether Jaguars owner Shahid Khan was thrilled with this choice from Little, given that he and his family also own and operate Fulham FC, a London-based Premier League team.
Perhaps his game-winner against the Eagles has earned Little the goodwill within the Jaguars organisation to not receive any punishment or scolding.
