PHILADELPHIA — Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson had his practice window opened on Wednesday after missing the last four weeks with a bone bruise in his right knee.
Dickerson practiced with his teammates on Wednesday on a limited basis, but it’s unclear whether he will play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
The Eagles would have to activate him off injured reserve before Sunday to play against the Panthers.
The Eagles have three weeks to make a decision on whether they want to take him off injured reserve or keep him on IR for the remainder of the season.
If Dickerson does return, there’s no guarantee he gets his starting job back. The Eagles could continue to start second-year player Willie Lampkin at left guard.
Asked about his long-term future with the Eagles at left guard on Wednesday, Dickerson gave a snarky response.
“That’s a great question,” Dickerson said on Wednesday. “Do they have a media day for Nick [Sirianni] and Howie [Roseman]? You can ask them that.”
Dickerson has struggled with injuries throughout his career and his play has declined over the last two years. Now, his future with the Eagles is in doubt.
Dickerson reportedly considered retirement this offseason, but he has denied those reports twice.
During the offseason, the Eagles took a year off of Dickerson’s contract, providing them cap relief after the 2027 season.
That decision indicated that the Eagles do not view Dickerson as part of the long-term future.
