The delivery of Malaysia's first batch of FA-50M light combat aircraft is expected to arrive either this month or next month as scheduled.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said yesterday the exact arrival date would be announced soon.
"So far, I have not received any information about any delay in delivery," he said after launching the Tabung Pahlawan Campaign 2026/2027 here.
Present were the campaign patron Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, army chief General Tan Sri Azhan Md Othman, navy chief Admiral Tan Sri Dr Zulhelmy Ithnain and air force chief General Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris.
In 2023, Malaysia signed a contract worth nearly RM4 billion with Korea Aerospace Industries to procure 18 FA-50 Block 20 light combat aircraft, designated as the FA-50M.
The variant features more advanced capabilities than the FA-50s operated by South Korea and other countries.
