What to know: The Tiffany HardWear collection debuted in 2017. Inspired by an archival bracelet that dated back to 1962, the collection has since become a staple for the luxury American jewelry brand.
Recognizable by its unique shape that mimics industrial links, the range has expanded to include a curated selection of bracelets, rings, earrings and more. And the designs have been spotted on many a famous fan including on global ambassador Natalie Portman, Laura Harrier, Beyonce and others.
This month, the HardWear by Tiffany story has evolved again with the introduction of colour into the precious pieces.

“Creativity begins when colour becomes a language,” said Nathalie Verdeille, Senior Vice President, Chief Artistic Officer, Jewellery and High Jewellery, Tiffany & Co. “Like in pointillism, each stone becomes a point of colour and light; together, they create a vibrant interplay that comes alive through movement.”

An unabashed nod to the 189-year-old company’s extensive history with gemstones, the latest release sees vivid turquoise and deliciously milky Akoya pearls added to the fine jewelry designs.
Coloured gemstones have been a strong storyline in the New York City-headquartered brand’s evolution, with some of the most rare and sought-after stones coming from the design house. Perhaps the most rare and spectacular among its creations is the 128.54-carat, cushion-cut Tiffany Diamond, which features a vivid yellow hue.
The latest evolution of HardWear also represents a nod to a historic necklace of lapis lazuli and pearl that was once worn by philanthropist Rachel Lambert “Bunny” Mellon, who was a close friend of longtime Tiffany & Co. jewelry designer Jean Schlumberger (creator of the standout Bird On A Rock, among others).
For the new collection, Verdeille viewed turquoise and pearls, set against 18-karat gold links, as contemporary counterparts for Mellon’s statement-making adornment.
Featuring nine new designs including a convertible statement necklace that can be worn as a double-wrap design, a long single style or even separated into a necklace and a bracelet, the collection also boasts a few more “everyday” designs such as drop earrings and pendant pieces.

The American jewelry brand operates 10 stores across Canada, where pieces from the Tiffany HardWear collection are available to explore.
Earlier this year, the company also opened a new boutique at Oakridge Park. Inspired by the iconic Fifth Avenue flagship store called The Landmark, the 4,112-square-foot boutique is the third outpost for the brand in Vancouver, including locations on Burred Street and in Holt Renfrew.
