It looks like one of Chicago’s key offensive players will not be able to return this year.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, tight end Cole Kmet is believed to have suffered a serious, likely season-ending knee injury during Thursday’s victory over the Patriots.
But Kmet is still undergoing tests and there is not currently finality on that diagnosis.
Kmet went down was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of the matchup. He immediately grabbed his right knee after a play where he had caught a pass and was tackled low.
Head coach Ben Johnson told reporters postgame that the injury did not look good.
In his seventh season, Kmet registered 10 catches for 87 yards with one touchdown in seven games with three starts in 2026.
