Meloni jokes about height, says 'not exactly a dwarf'

(ANSA) - ROME, 12 OTT - Italy's petite Premier Giorgia Meloni on Monday joked about her height at a meeting of the Association of Lombardy Businesses (Assolombarda) , saying she was not exactly a dwarf after finding that organisers had fitted a podium step that was too high for her microphone. "I'm not exactly a dwarf; I think you underestimated me," Meloni quipped just after stepping onto the stage at the Assolombarda general assembly, where she found a riser on the podium that turned out to be too high. Meloni, 49, stands approximately 5 feet 2 inches (1.58 metres) tall. (ANSA).
