Two brothers died from electrocution in Kendua upazila of Netrokona yesterday morning. Their mother was also injured while trying to save them.
The deceased were Muaz, 6, and Arafat, 4, sons of Md Abdus Sattar and Panna of Kawalikanda village.
Quoting relatives, Sub-Inspector Md Babul Mia, in-charge of Kendua Pemoi Police Investigation Centre, said one of the boys came into contact with a wire while playing.
His brother was electrocuted while trying to save him. Hearing their screams, their mother rushed to help and also sustained injuries said police.
Locals took them to Kendua Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared the children dead. Their mother was released after receiving treatment.
Kendua Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Toriqul Islam said the bodies were handed over to the family after legal formalities.
