Pump.fun has now made Pump Bridge the default cross-chain trading route in its mobile app, replacing Relay after a trial showed faster buys, fewer failures, and improved execution. The Solana-based memecoin platform announced the change on October 22, citing a 92% drop in buy errors. Pump Bridge also carries no separate bridging fee, although other trading charges still apply.
The company tested both services from September 28 through October 7. Unlike a public benchmark, the study tracked purchases made within Pump. fun’s mobile app. Its findings reflect that setting rather than every trading service. It then shifted cross-chain orders to its own infrastructure, while Relay continued serving other apps, including FOMO.
Pump Bridge Cuts Buy Times and Transaction Errors
Pump.fun reported a typical purchase time of 1.95 seconds through Pump Bridge, compared with 3.88 seconds through Relay. Its figures indicate that the new system took roughly half as long to process a buy.
Among the fastest 10% of purchases, Pump Bridge completed trades in 1.23 seconds, versus 2.75 seconds for Relay. At the slower end, the final 10% exceeded 4.21 seconds on Pump Bridge and 7.36 seconds on Relay.
Reliability also improved during the test. Relay recorded an 11.2% buy error rate, while Pump Bridge recorded 0.9%. That difference amounts to roughly 92% fewer errors under the conditions Pump.fun measured.
For a trader placing 10 purchases daily, those rates imply more than one failed buy per day on Relay. Pump Bridge would produce about one failure every 11 days, based on the same pattern.
Better Execution Prices Drive Estimated Savings
Pump.fun also measured how much traders received against prevailing spot prices. A purchase can finish quickly yet deliver fewer tokens than its reference price suggests. The firm therefore tracked execution gaps separately.
For completed USDC buys below $500, the median execution gap fell from 3.6% on Relay to 3.0% on Pump Bridge.
That represents a reduction of about 17% in the gap between market reference prices and actual execution. As a result, traders received more tokens for the same spending amount in the company's comparison.
Pump.fun estimated that 10 daily purchases of $500 each could yield roughly $11,000 in annual savings against Relay. The estimate assumes that the test's execution difference continues throughout the year.
The new route currently adds no bridging fee. Still, Pump.fun charges for other trading services, including a 0.45% per-trade fee for app wallets without a referral code.

Testing Limits and Wider Trading Expansion
Pump.fun said it assigned users at random to Pump Bridge or Relay between September 28 and October 7. Participants switched between routes several times.
The trial covered crosschain transactions involving Robinhood, BSC, Base, Arc and Ink. The results covered both order success and final token amounts, rather than completion speed alone. Pump.fun said it would release the underlying datasets for outside review, but independent testing across other trading conditions has not established the same results.
The company calculated a theoretical minimum purchase time of about 1.1 seconds, considering network communication and confirmation on the receiving blockchain. Its quickest observed trades finished just 0.13 seconds above that estimate.
Pump.fun first introduced crosschain trading in May. The new rollout moves its mobile app from a third-party default to an internal bridge for supported purchases. More recently, on October 17, it added a perpetual futures interface through Hyperliquid, which manages execution, margin, funding and settlement. Published fees reach 0.10% per order, with restrictions for United States and Ontario users.
Separately, an October 20 report cited a Bitquery study showing that 79% of sampled Pump.fun tokens had no trading activity after their launch day. Pump.fun said it plans further improvements to Pump Bridge's transaction times.
Conclusion
Pump.fun has switched its mobile cross-chain trading default from Relay to Pump Bridge after reporting faster buys, fewer errors, and narrower execution gaps. Its results come from a ten-day in-app test, and the company plans to improve the service further. Separate app trading fees remain in place.
