KB Kookmin Bank will serve as title sponsor of South Korea's 2026-2027 women's professional basketball season, which opens on Nov. 1. The league's official name for the new season has been set as the KB Star Banking 2026-2027 Women's Korea Basketball League.
The Women's Korean Basketball League (WKBL) said on the 14th that it had finalized the official league name as the KB Star Banking 2026-2027 Women's Korea Basketball League, and unveiled the emblem for the new season.
The Cheongju KB Stars, sponsored by KB Kookmin Bank, won the integrated championship in the 2025-2026 season. Under WKBL rules, the champion's sponsor takes on the league's title sponsorship for the following year, making KB Kookmin Bank the title sponsor for the new season.
As title sponsor, KB Kookmin Bank secures the rights to the official league name and emblem, and will exercise sponsorship rights across the league, including advertising at the six clubs' arenas and broadcast and media promotion.
The title sponsorship signing ceremony between the WKBL and KB Kookmin Bank will take place on the 27th at the Riviera Hotel Cheongdam in Seoul's Gangnam district, during the KB Star Banking 2026-2027 Women's Professional Basketball Opening Media Day.
The new women's professional basketball season opens on Nov. 1, with each team playing 35 games.
