The final play in the 28-24 BYU win over Notre Dame on Saturday was filled with controversy for multiple reasons. There were those who wondered if CJ Carr's throw to Jaden Greathouse should have been whistled for pass interference on Evan Johnson.
And then everyone shared videos of there potentially being one second left on the clock after the ball fell incomplete. That's where our focus will be, and it what the Big 12 shared its message about early Sunday morning.
"Following the Big 12's review of the final play of Saturday's Notre Dame-BYU game," read the statement, "it was determined that time remained on the clock when the ball hit the ground and the play was incorrectly cleared by the replay officiating crew. The Conference will conduct a complete review of its end-of-game officiating process in advance of next week's games."

At least there was an admission of getting one thing wrong on that play. That may not make Notre Dame fans or the team feel better here, though.
