Enes Kanter Freedom is clearing the air on his conversations with Sophie Cunningham.
Enes Kanter and Sophie Cunningham are completely aligned when it comes to defending biological women’s sports, making it clear their position isn’t about hate, it’s about basic fairness.
Cunningham hasn’t backed down, despite heavy criticism over her views on gender-segregated athletics. She took that message front and center at a Mizzou football game, turning heads by wearing a cap emblazoned with “Woman” as she was honored on the field.
Enes Kanter confirms Sophie Cunningham’s gender stance
Enes Kanter is setting the record straight on where he and Sophie Cunningham actually stand. He pointed out that their fight for women’s sports has nothing to do with hate, as he sees it as protecting biological female athletes isn’t being “anti-trans”, it’s simply standing up for basic fairness.
He told the Sage Steele Show: “The thing that drives people crazy is the smile on her face. That’s what draws people in. Whenever she goes out there, she loves to troll and speak her mind. But she does it with a smile on her face, and that gets so much attention. People see that and think, ‘I don’t care what you’re feeling inside, but when you have a smile on the outside, it’s going to drive your enemies crazy.’
“The other conversation I had with her was: we are not anti-trans. We are just pro-women. There’s a huge difference.”
Kanter definitely stirs the pot when he brings up transitioning himself to play in the WNBA. He claims he’s doing it to highlight physical advantages and protect women’s sports, but mocking the process that way just alienates people.
Instead of sticking to a clear message about fairness, it ends up looking like cheap trolling that completely derails the conversation.
