AS PORSCHE continues to celebrate 30 years in the Philippines, it recently unveiled the Cayenne Electric, the first full-electric model of the iconic sportscar brand’s full-size SUV. The model has played an “important role” for Porsche since the SUV’s introduction in 2002.
“The Cayenne has always represented Porsche’s ability to evolve while remaining true to what defines the brand,” said Porsche Philippines President and CEO Roberto Coyiuto III. “As we celebrate 30 years of Porsche in the Philippines, the arrival of the Cayenne Electric is especially meaningful. It brings together Porsche Intelligent Performance, everyday versatility and a new generation of electric technology, while preserving the driving experience our customers expect from a Porsche. There is no substitute.”
“More than 1.5 million units of the Cayenne have been delivered worldwide, establishing the model as one of the pillars of the Porsche range,” stated Porsche Philippines in a release.
The BEV version of the Cayenne debuted globally in November 2025, and is produced in Bratislava — alongside the manufacture of its ICE (internal combustion engine) and PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) versions. In a release, Porsche said, “This flexible production enables Porsche to react quickly to changes in demand. In order to further expand its own battery expertise in a targeted manner, the sports car manufacturer is also relying on battery modules developed entirely in-house for the Cayenne Electric. These are manufactured in the Porsche Smart Battery Shop in Horná Streda — located around 100 kilometers northeast of Bratislava.”
As mentioned by the company, the Cayenne Electric will exist simultaneously with other versions of the nameplate. “This is a different platform (E4) from the current E3. This new platform is dedicated to the full-EV Cayenne. This means the model is now being offered in all powertrains. It’s about offering clients what they want, whatever it may be,” said Porsche Philippines Managing Director Stephen Recinto, in an interview with “Velocity.”
The Cayenne Electric gets a Porsche E-Performance Powertrain with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front and rear axles. Maximum torque (with launch control) reaches up to 835Nm, peak power is 408ps (with overboost and launch control, up to 442ps). It boasts Matrix LED headlights, so-called Comfort Seats in front (with 14-way adjustment), leather-wrapped multifunctional steering wheel with heating and mode switch, a Bose Surround Sound system, and Sport Chrono package. Porsche equips the Cayenne Electric with 20-inch Aero Wheels.
Standstill-to-100kph time (with launch control) is clocked at 4.8 seconds, while the maximum range between charging sessions is rated at 642km — enabled by a 113-kWh gross capacity Performance Battery.
Meanwhile, a high-voltage architecture enables peak charging input of 400kW, allowing the battery to recharge via a high-capacity DC charge point. Porsche Philippines also provides an 11-kW onboard AC charger for additional peace of mind.
The Cayenne Electric has a longer wheelbase of 3,023mm, resulting in a 511-mm increase in rear legroom. Porsche stated that “additional headroom has been created at both the front and rear despite the high-voltage battery being integrated into the underbody.” The rear seat can slide electronically by up to 150mm, with the backrest adjustable by up to 18 degrees.
The Cayenne Electric will join here the Cayenne E-Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle bearing a powerful electric motor complemented by a 25.9-kW battery paired with a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine. The system outputs a 470hp and 650Nm of torque — good for a zero-to-100kph time of 4.9 seconds. Porsche Philippines said that it is a better strategy to dispense with the pure-ICE version here because of electrified model’s benefit under the government’s Electric Vehicle Development Act.
According to Mr. Recinto, the launch cars displayed were already spoken for, along with some of the incoming units — underscoring the popularity and anticipation for the BEV version of the Cayenne. He revealed that the Turbo Electric and Coupé Electric are expected to arrive here in the future as well. — Kap Maceda Aguila
