Things have gone from bad to worse for Matt Campbell and Penn State, both on the field and on the recruiting trail.
The Nittany Lions recently lost the commitment of three-star Massachusetts quarterback Will Wood, who flipped to Boston College this week. This leaves Campbell without a quarterback in his 2027 class. Lucky for Penn State, 2028 quarterback James Armstrong is having a fruitful junior year.
Hopewell (Pa.) has now won five in a row, including a 60-0 victory, thanks to its three-star QB. Armstrong finished the most recent victory with 243 passing yards and four touchdowns, also adding 80 yards on the ground. The game ended in a mercy rule.
TOUCHDOWN: What a play here by James Armstrong, who scrambles around and extends the play before finding Maddox Fattore for a 10-yard score with 14 seconds left in the first half.

“Booboo” completed 14 of 23 passes for 243 yards and four TDs while rushing for 80 yards in a 42-14 mercy-rule win over OLSH:@TribLiveHSSNpic.twitter.com/njN6HTWrXS
Three-star New Jersey running back Chukwuma Odoh recently went off in a massive win for Paramus Catholic, who took down top-ranked Bergen. He rushed for 228 yards and scored three times, from 52, 11, and one yard out. Odoh is considered a top-50 running back in his class.
The Paladins open the second half with a trip to the end zone. Senior running back Chukwuma Odoh scores from 11-yards out. Back-to-back scoring drives going back to the first half for Paramus Catholic.

Class of 2027 cornerback Kei’Shjuan Telfair is continuing to have two-way success during his senior season at Euclid (Oh.).
The four-star has logged multiple three-touchdown performances this season, including a recent win over Cleveland Heights, where he took three of his four receptions to the house. The only catch he didn’t score on was a sure interception that he ripped from the defender’s hands. Pretty ridiculous.

It’s too early to tell if Telfair can truly be a two-way threat at Penn State, but he’s surely getting plenty of reps on the offensive side of the ball in high school. Opponents are not really looking his way when he’s playing defense.
