The family of late Nollywood actor and comedian John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, have paid tribute to him on his posthumous birthday.
In an emotional Instagram post shared by the actor’s wife, the late actor’s family shared family photographs in his memory. The late actor’s wife and their three children wore matching white T-shirts bearing Mr Ibu’s picture and the words “Best Daddy.”
Accompanying the photographs was a heartfelt message in which she expressed her enduring love for her late husband and the pain of living without him.
Her message read in part: “My Husband, On your posthumous birthday. Every time I look at the stars I know that’s where you’ll be. Shining like you always do. And watching over me and your children.”
She continued; ”Although the pain I’m feeling is with me everyday. The love you left inside my heart will never go away. Life goes on without you but it will never be the same and if I had my time once more I’d do it all again.”
”We may not be able to spend time with each other anymore, but I want you to know that you are always in my mind. Lots of love and hugs from here on earth, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Nkpokiti.”
Mr Ibu, known for his distinctive comic style and memorable roles, was one of Nollywood’s most recognisable entertainers. He died in March 2024 following a period of ill health.
