Imran Ahmed has joined IFIC Bank PLC as additional managing director, bringing more than 28 years of professional experience in banking, finance, operations, information technology and risk management.
Before joining IFIC Bank, Ahmed served as deputy managing director of National Bank PLC, according to the press release.
His previous leadership roles include general manager and chief audit officer at Sonali Bank PLC, senior executive vice president and chief operating officer at NRB Bank PLC, and chief financial officer at Bank Asia PLC.
Ahmed holds a Master of Commerce in Accounting and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Shari'ah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA), and Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist (CSRS).
He has also completed specialised training programmes in the United States, Norway, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Earlier in his career, he served as a partner at Qasem & Co, Chartered Accountants, which was then an associate firm of PwC.
