What the India consignment contains
The donated items are intended to protect frontline health workers and strengthen laboratory and public health systems.
According to the Ministry of Health, the consignment includes 6,000 protective PPE kits, 60 powered air-purifying respirators, 30,000 N95 masks, and over 86,000 sample transport kits.
Assorted gowns, gloves, face shields, boots, and infrared thermometers are also included, alongside biosafety cabinets and cold-chain refrigerators to support safe sample handling and laboratory operations.
How Kenya plans to deploy the supplies
The Ministry of Health said the equipment will be channelled to health workers, treatment and isolation centres, rapid response teams, and screening points at health facilities and border entry points.
Muthoni, speaking at the handover, reiterated the Ministry's commitment to containing the outbreak through early detection, isolation, and stronger infection prevention and control measures.
The Ministry also urged Kenyans to remain calm and vigilant as government efforts to manage the outbreak continue.
This is the second consignment of Indian medical assistance Kenya has received this year. India provided the first batch of supplies in July 2026.
Swaika described the latest donation as a continuation of India's commitment to Kenya's preparedness and response efforts.
"India stands in solidarity with Kenya in its efforts in containing Ebola and remains committed to strengthening the longstanding bilateral partnership in healthcare," the Indian High Commission in Kenya said in a statement.
Kenya has been managing an outbreak of Bundibugyo virus disease, a strain of the Ebola virus, since 2026, working alongside international partners to limit its spread.
