Israel DMW, logistics manager to Nigerian singer Davido, has declared his support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election, amid criticism surrounding the singer’s political stance.
Israel announced his preferred candidate in a post on his Instagram account on Friday, where he shared a photograph of Atiku, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In the post, Israel criticised what he described as the concentration of a ₦15 trillion contract in the hands of one individual and argued that Nigerians should be allowed to freely choose their next president.
He also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that voters can make their choices without interference.
Explaining his position, Israel said he intended to vote for Atiku, citing his preference for the former vice president and making a controversial statement about northern leadership.
“I’m voting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. INEC should please allow Nigerians to freely choose whoever they want to govern them in January 2027. A good name is far better than money,” he wrote.
Israel also urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as claims of 2.5 million votes from Edo State.
He referenced former Edo State governor Adams Oshiomhole, arguing that despite Oshiomhole’s popularity, his party had struggled to secure comparable electoral support in the state during presidential elections.

“Adams Oshiomhole remains the most loved and widely accepted governor in Edo State, winning 18 over 18, he could not deliver 500k votes to his party,” Israel stated.
He further claimed that the party had lost presidential elections in Edo State on two occasions.
