Trump accuses Minnesota congresswoman of identity fraud, calls for her resignation

US President Donald Trump called Thursday for Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s resignation from Congress, accusing her of using a false name when she was sworn into office, an allegation her office has denied, Anadolu reports. “Because she used a fake name to be sworn in, I assume she must IMMEDIATELY resign from Congress,” he wrote on his Truth Social platform. Trump claimed the Minnesota lawmaker’s real name was Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, which shares a surname with her former husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
