Celtic defender Dane Murray has been through it all since making his competitive Celtic debut under Ange Postecoglou at tender age of 18 back in 2021.
Dane Murray is still just relatively young at 23, and has since worked under several different managers in that timeframe, as well as spending a spell on loan at Queens Park.
Unfortunately for the big centre back, he’s had his injury problems which haven’t helped his development, but he’s been a familiar face in the Celtic squad these past few months, playing in some big games domestically, as well as in Europe as he bids to get a regular start under Martin O’Neill.

The former Scotland under 21 international has made just 20 top team appearances, including a rare start in the recent 2-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park, and looked comfortable alongside Liam Scales at the heart of the defence.
Scales, who’s been through his own difficulties in making the grade at Celtic has backed his young teammate and pal to succeed at the club, as he gave him a glowing endorsement, complimenting him on his incredible attributes.

The Republic of Ireland international said to the mainstream media including Glasgow Times after Celtic’s 2-0 win at Motherwell*: “Dane is brilliant, he’s got all the attributes. He had a couple of really tough years with injuries when he was younger that probably held him back.
“You probably would have seen a lot more of him had it not been for those injuries. But he’s come through them and he’s got incredible attributes.”

Liam Scales stated that Dane Murray is “big, strong, quick and good on the ball”, adding: “He can defend and it’s good to play alongside him.”
We can only hope that Dane can make the grade, and if he continues to put in assured performances like he did on Sunday, then he has every chance of succeeding.
