Efforts to safeguard people who are at risk of radicalisation have not kept pace with changing threats, a new report has concluded.
The assessment by His Majesty’s Inspector of Constabulary describes systemic failures across the safeguarding network.
The report found that the Prevent deradicalisation programme needs more, better trained staff because it currently has too many, often complex, cases to deal with. It also found that different agencies were often not sharing information well enough or intervening early enough.
