Kylian Mbappe will be one of the biggest threats when Real Madrid visit Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clasico, with the French forward arriving in formidable form after scoring in consecutive 4-1 victories over Sevilla and RB Leipzig.
The October 25 showdown at Spotify Camp Nou presents another opportunity for the Real Madrid star to make his mark against one of his favourite opponents.
Barcelona remain unbeaten in La Liga after winning all nine of their opening matches, but their 2-4 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain highlighted that they are not invulnerable.
The Catalans has conceded nine league goals, giving Real Madrid reason to believe their attacking quality can make the difference.
Mbappe’s remarkable scoring form gives Real Madrid edge
Mbappe’s numbers heading into El Clasico underline why he will be Real Madrid’s biggest goal threat.
He has scored 12 goals in 12 appearances across all competitions this season, including nine in nine La Liga matches and three in three Champions League outings.

The Frenchman has become a central figure in Real Madrid’s attacking plans, and his ability to punish defensive mistakes could prove decisive against Barcelona’s high defensive line.
Madrid have won their last two matches by 4-1 scorelines, building momentum before one of the most important fixtures of their season.
Mbappe’s finishing gives them a reliable source of goals, although the outcome will also depend on how effectively the team creates chances and controls Barcelona’s attacking transitions.
Barcelona have reason to fear Mbappe’s record
Mbappe has scored 12 goals against Barcelona across all competitions, making the Catalans one of the opponents against whom he has been most prolific.
His record in away matches against Barça is particularly striking: he has scored eight goals across three visits, including a hat-trick for Real Madrid in May 2025.

Those visits have included matches at both Camp Nou and the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, rather than exclusively at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou.
Despite those individual achievements, Mbappe has not always enjoyed success in the rivalry, as Real Madrid lost five of the six Clasicos he played in during his first season in Spain.
Real Madrid need Mbappe to deliver again
Madrid will hope their latest results translate into another strong performance against Barcelona.
Mbappe’s scoring consistency makes him a major threat, but the hosts’ perfect league record means Jose Mourinho’s side cannot afford to rely on the Frenchman alone.
If Real Madrid can supply Mbappe with chances and limit Barcelona’s attacking rhythm, the forward has the quality to influence the result.
