Our world is increasingly filled with colorful, glowing screens it can be hard to take your eyes off of. If you would like to decrease your screen time, you might also want to increase your reading time. One of the most convenient ways to do that is to use a tiny e-book reader like the XTEINK X4 Pro, currently on sale at Amazon for $84.15 (down from $99). It’s a limited-time deal, so it could vanish at any time. Let’s look at what this little device can do.
XTEINK X4 Pro Is on Sale for $84
The XTEINK X4 Pro is a tiny, easily pocketable e-book reader; it's 5.95mm thin and weighs just 72 grams. The e-ink display measures 4.3 inches diagonally, which is big enough to read without straining your eyes. But the whole device is barely bigger than a credit card. It can even magnetically snap onto the back of your phone.
It has most of the features you’d expect in an ebook reader in 2026. It has a dual-tone front light so you can read in low-light (or no-light) situations. The e-ink display is easy to read in direct sunlight, just like the pages of a paper book. It has both touchscreen and physical buttons to turn pages forward and back. And because e-ink displays require very little power, a single charge lasts weeks.
Format-wise, it supports EPUB, TXT, MOBI, PDF formats. You can load books onto it using the official app, the cloud, or a microSD card. The app can even convert ebooks from different formats into a format viewable on the device.
It has buttons for home, power on/off, next page, and previous page. It has a microSD card slot and a lanyard hole. It doesn’t come with a charging cable, but it does include an adapter that lets you use a USB-C charging cable to charge it using a magnet to attach it to your device. It also comes with a magnet ring you can stick to the back of the device to make it snap to the back of your phone.
Once you go into the settings, you’ll find this thing is super customizable. You can change the functions of the buttons. You can adjust things like the font, line spacing, text size, and brightness. You can go into night mode, and even set a color temperature to trigger on and off automatically at certain times of day.
Personally, I love reading paper books, but I have to admit they’re not the most convenient things in the world to haul around, especially if you don’t want to bring a bag where you’re going. Even a Kindle is too big to carry on your person. That’s where a device like this fits in, so you can carry a book (or folder full of books) with you wherever you go, even in the same pocket as your phone.
I also like the small screen size, because it limits the number of words on a page. Sometimes, when I’m reading a textbook or a big hardcover, I find the wall of text on the page visually unappealing, especially if the print is small. I look at a page like that, and think, “I’m never going to read all that” – and I was an English major. On the XTEINK X4 Pro, you’ll never have an intimidating amount of text on the screen.
The best part about it is the size. Because it's so pocketable, you can just bring it with you anywhere you go. Then, when you find yourself in a situation where you'd normally pull out your phone and start doomscrolling, you can pull out the X4 Pro instead and read a few pages in whatever book you're currently reading.
