Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) has got herself in a right pickle.
Earlier this month, Bethany discovered that she was pregnant. A trip to the doctors allowed her to learn how far along in the pregnancy she was, and that the father of her baby is Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
Yes, her mum’s ex-boyfriend.
‘I don’t actually know what she was thinking,’ Lucy Fallon admitted, discussing the twist that saw Bethany sleep with Kit.
‘I think they both were in quite a bad place at the time, they were obviously in the flat together, they were trying to deal with a lot of stuff together and I think it was just one of those things that happened.
‘It just happened. It was a one night mistake, I don’t think she has any feelings for him at all in that way.’

Bethany reached a conclusion over what to do about her pregnancy in today’s episode. Once her mum Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) had been released from prison, Bethany began thinking about the future.
Adding to Bethany’s stress was her developing relationship with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).
‘I think she genuinely really likes him and he genuinely really likes her too,’ Lucy said of the bond.
‘They’ve got a bit of shared history as well from when they were together before but obviously this is going to throw a massive spanner in the works.
‘If she chooses to go through with the termination that will make things easier for their relationship, but if she chooses to keep the baby, that’s going to complicate the whole situation because is Ryan going to want to be with her if she’s going to be having someone else’s baby when they’re so early on in their relationship?’.
Bethany absolutely knew that a lot was going to change now her mum was home, and adding a pregnancy into the mix was only going to make things worse.
To prevent getting caught up in a giant web of lies, Bethany decided to book an appointment for an abortion.
But booking an abortion appointment and actually going through with it are two different things entirely.
Will Bethany’s view change once she arrives at the clinic?
