Starbucks Korea is running a customer appreciation promotion, offering bonus stars and discount coupons to mark surpassing 16 million rewards members.
The coffee chain said on the 13th that it will provide a range of benefits to both existing rewards members and new sign-ups for one week, from the 15th through the 21st.
During the promotion, rewards members who buy designated beverages — including Caffe Americano, Caffe Latte and Vanilla Latte — will receive two additional stars on top of the standard earning rate.
The company is also expanding the range of coupons that can be redeemed with accumulated stars. In addition to existing star coupons, members can choose from a buy-one-get-one offer on Americanos, a buy-one-get-one offer on handcrafted beverages, free Deliverse delivery, a discount on mini whole cakes and a discount on To Go Bags. Free delivery and the discounts on mini whole cakes and To Go Bags are being introduced for the first time in this promotion.
New members will also receive benefits. Those who join Starbucks Rewards during the promotion will be upgraded to Green level without any additional purchase and will receive a coupon for 30% off beverages and food.
Starbucks Rewards, a membership program launched in September 2011, lets customers redeem stars earned through beverage purchases and other transactions for drink coupons or vouchers for food and merchandise.
A Starbucks official said the company is grateful to its 16 million members for their continued patronage and participation in Starbucks Rewards, and pledged to continue introducing a variety of benefits and services.
