Mumbai: CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke on Sunday accused Delhi Police of trying to torment his parents by asking him to call them at 3:30 am regarding his arrest.
"When I came to know in the afternoon that my grandmother had passed away, I asked Delhi Police to allow me to speak to my cousin brother. However, Delhi Police refused to give me phone. But, at 3:30 am they came and asked me to call my parents to tell them that I have been arrested. My parents have health problems and they were already under stress due to my grandmother's death and the police wanted me to shock them further by calling them.
Delhi Police has no humanity," Dipke said. He denied having signed any bond. "I have come here due to my grandmother's death. We have to finish this autocratic government. Has anybody been arrested from the aircraft in the last 15 to 20 years? Protests will continue. I am not afraid and I am willing to go to prison."
Meanwhile, protests broke out in Mumbai and Pune as protesters took to the streets, demanding CEC's resignation. As police tried to move the detained protesters, Aaditya Thackeray (Sena-UBT) and Amit Thackeray (MNS), along with their party cadres, stopped the police vehicle carrying the detainees, and demanded their release. Aaditya later claimed that Amit had been detained, but there was no confirmation from the police. Aaditya warned if protesters were not released, then there would be protests throughout the state.
