The Barbados Association of Bermuda [BAB] welcomed the visiting Barbados triathlon team at LF Wade International Airport, showing its support ahead of this weekend’s triathlon events.
A spokesperson said, “The Barbados Association of Bermuda [BAB] transformed the arrivals hall at LF Wade International Airport into a sea of ultramarine and gold this week, delivering a vibrant and energetic welcome to the visiting Barbados triathlon team.
“Armed with national flags, wearing bright Bajan colours, and bringing an unmistakable island warmth, BAB members gathered in high spirits to ensure the athletes felt the full support of their diaspora family the moment they touched down. The enthusiastic reception, captured in the accompanying photograph, sets a spirited tone ahead of this weekend’s highly anticipated triathlon events.”
“As the Barbados Association of Bermuda, it is our mandate and our absolute privilege to support our nationals whenever they arrive on Bermuda’s shores,” said Hashim Akil Estwick, President of the BAB.
“These athletes have trained with immense rigour to compete at this level, and we wanted their first experience on the island to be filled with the familiar energy, pride, and unwavering backing of their community. We are incredibly proud of them and will be out in full force cheering them on every step, pedal, and stroke of the way this weekend.”
The spokesperson said, “This initiative directly aligns with BAB’s revitalised mission to strengthen community bonds, preserve Barbadian heritage, and actively champion the sporting, cultural, and social links between Barbados and Bermuda. The BAB encourages the wider Bermudian community to join them in supporting all the competing athletes across the weekend’s races.”
