Yet this rapid sale rate does not represent the general state of the market: the biggest portion of transactions across the country (37%) took between three months and a year to conclude, and 70% of the houses needed more than a month to secure a buyer.
When it comes to the analysis of sales speed in the district capitals and on the islands, Ponta Delgada ranks highest in the country for "lightning-fast sales", with 16% of properties being sold within seven days.
This is followed by Aveiro at 15% and Porto at 14%.
National average
On the other hand, Lisbon is below the national average, with only 7% of its sales being rapid—and 42% of its properties taking between three months and a year to sell—while Beja had the lowest figure in the country at 4%.
In the various districts and island areas, São Miguel is at the top of the national list (19% of sales taking place in less than a week), followed by Viana do Castelo at 18% and the Porto district at 17%.
