The recovery was made during Operation Carback II, coordinated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) through its INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Nairobi and the Operations Directorate.

The operation, which concluded on Friday,
involved several law enforcement and regulatory agencies and was part of a global initiative coordinated by INTERPOL under Project Drive Out, in collaboration with the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol).
According to the DCI, detectives inspected more than 1,800 vehicles physically and checked over 260,000 vehicles against INTERPOL’s database.
