The Tennessee Titans will try to stop their losing streak when they visit the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6 of the 2026 NFL season.
Tennessee fell to 0-5 after suffering a 26-3 home loss to the Houston Texans in Week 5. Meanwhile, Indianapolis dropped to 2-3 following a 34-22 road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Titans now face a familiar AFC South rival that has consistently given them trouble. Here are six things to know ahead of Sunday's matchup.
1. The Colts have won six straight games against the Titans
Indianapolis has dominated this rivalry recently, winning six consecutive games against Tennessee. The Colts' winning streak followed a five-game winning streak by the Titans in the series. Ending that streak to secure their first win of the season would also provide a much-needed boost for the Titans.
2. The Titans are still searching for their first win
At 0-5, Tennessee is running out of opportunities to build momentum early in the season. Their latest setback was discouraging, as the Titans took a step back by scoring only three points against Houston at home, who were also winless entering the contest. Another loss would extend their difficult start and increase the pressure on the team to show meaningful progress on both sides of the ball.
3. Tennessee’s offense has a major challenge ahead
The Titans enter Week 6 averaging just 11.6 points and 246.4 total yards per game, ranking last in the NFL in both categories. Another alarming fact about those stats if the Titans' 58 points scored through their first five games is lower than the 59 points the Chicago Bears scored in their Week 1 game against the Carolina Panthers.
That lack of production leaves little margin for error. Tennessee must sustain drives, avoid costly mistakes, and find ways to turn scoring opportunities into touchdowns against Indianapolis.
4. Cam Ward needs more help on offense
Cam Ward has thrown for 896 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions through five games. He remains a central part of Tennessee's rebuilding effort, but the offense needs to become more consistent around him.
Better protection and a dependable running game will go a long way in helping the Ward progress in a positive manner. The Colts defense ranks 28th in the NFL in yards per game given up (384.2), so the Titans must take advantage.
5. Jonathan Taylor could be a major problem for Tennessee
Colts running back Jonathan Taylor ranks in the top 10 of the NFL this season with 398 yards and six touchdowns through five games. Also, he has averaged 157.7 yards per game and totaled 8 rushing touchdowns in his last three games against the Titans.
The Titans must limit Taylor's production and avoid allowing the Colts to control the game on the ground. If Indianapolis establishes its running game early, Tennessee could face another difficult afternoon.
6. The Colts are looking to bounce back from a Steelers loss
Indianapolis enters this matchup after losing to Pittsburgh in Week 5. The Colts entered that matchup winning two in a row, so getting that winning feeling back will be at the forefront of their minds.
The Colts' offense has scored 24.8 points per game this season, while the Titans have yet to score more than 20 points in any game this season. The Colts’ lowest point total in any game this season was 19 points against Houston in Week 3. Sunday doesn't look promising for Tennessee, but anything goes in NFL divisional matchups.
