By Zoila Palma: Belize Water Services Ltd. (BWS) is investing $2.25 million in the Southside Belize City Water Storage Expansion Project, which is currently 54 percent complete. The project forms part of BWS’ efforts to strengthen water infrastructure and improve service reliability for customers in the area.
The investment includes the installation of a 250,000-gallon water storage tank at BWS headquarters in Belize City.
The tank is one of two planned for the facility and will contribute toward the company’s goal of achieving a total water storage capacity of one million gallons in the Southside area.
BWS says that the expansion is expected to increase water storage capacity, improve water security and reduce service downtime during emergencies and operational disruptions.
