Chivayo had purchased 15 Toyota Fortuners from a Harare-based car dealer. Days before the flamboyant businessman's death, he shared a video of 15 brand new Toyota Fortuners, saying he was gifting them to his church members.
According to the Mudododo hitmaker, he had been notified to return the vehicle to the car dealership by 10 am on October 22, with the reason given being that it had not yet been paid for.
The claim quickly sparked public concern, drawing attention to the broader question of what happens to the gifts Chivayo had been handing out to artists and public figures before his passing.

Car dealer responds to return rumours
Madzibaba Tendai Chipaga, the owner of Enterprise Car Sale and the dealer who supplied the vehicle to Chivayo, stepped forward to address the swirling speculation. Speaking to ZBC, Chipaga made it clear that no vehicle had been formally demanded back from Sugar Sugar or any other recipient.
He did, however, confirm that approximately 15 cars he supplied to Chivayo remain outstanding in terms of payment. With Chivayo now deceased, settling those accounts has become part of the complex process of winding up his estate, a matter that now sits with the appointed executor.
Chipaga's position was further amplified by DJ Ollah 7, who shared the dealer's comments and offered his own reading of the situation. According to DJ Ollah 7, Chipaga suspects someone exploited the uncertainty surrounding the estate to intimidate Sugar Sugar with false information. The message to the musician was straightforward: there is no reason to panic for now, and he should wait for the executor to finalise everything before drawing any conclusions.
What happens to Chivayo's gifts?
The episode shines a light on the complicated legal terrain that often follows the death of a high-profile figure who was known for extravagant generosity. Chivayo had gifted numerous vehicles and other items to musicians and entertainers in Zimbabwe, and with his estate now under administration, the fate of those gifts remains tied to the decisions of the executor.
For Sugar Sugar, the immediate pressure appears to have lifted following Chipaga's clarification. Whether all 15 outstanding vehicles will ultimately be settled by the estate or whether recipients could face further uncertainty remains to be seen as the legal process unfolds.
