Writing online to seek advice, the man described how what began as a minor disagreement spiralled into a moment he cannot take back.
He admitted that years of suppressed frustration finally surfaced all at once, and the words that came out were devastating.
What Kenyan man told wife during argument
During the argument, the man told his wife that she had never been his first choice, that he regretted marrying her, and that his life had been miserable from the moment she entered it.
He said he had long felt a sense of disrespect from her, particularly after losing his job, a period he described as especially difficult for their relationship.
"She has tried her best, but I have always felt some disrespect," he wrote, acknowledging that his wife had made efforts despite the tough circumstances.
He said the argument had been building for a long time, and that small frustrations had quietly accumulated until one moment of tension caused everything to come pouring out.
A Marriage at a Crossroads
With a two-year-old child caught in the middle, the man said he is now caught between regret and confusion.
His wife, he shared, is now considering leaving, and he is unsure whether that is something he truly wants.
"I always thought this is what I always wanted but that it's here, it doesn't feel that way anymore," he wrote.
He acknowledged that the marriage cannot simply return to what it was before, whether she stays or goes. The words have already been said, and the damage is real.
"Now, if she stays, things will never be the same; if she leaves, things will never be the same," he wrote, asking married people for guidance on how they navigate moments like these.
His post struck a nerve with many readers, touching on the very real challenge couples face when unspoken pain builds up over time, and the way that small arguments can become the breaking point for much deeper wounds.
