Siena and SUSHISAMBA both received a special visit from Sheikh Hamdan this week
If there’s one thing we here at What’s On love to do, it’s keeping up with the royals. And this week, we spotted HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai dining at two popular Dubai restaurants: Siena and SushiSamba Dubai.
Sheikh Hamdan was filmed heading to Siena in DIFC on Monday, October 12, 2026. Siena is one of the new kids on the block – the new Italian restaurant opened its doors only in April 2026. What a royal achievement for a newcomer.
In the video, Sheikh Hamdan paused to shake hands and greet Rizwan Kassim, Founder and Managing Partner of Rikas Group, before entering the restaurant. Post his lunch, he posed for a photo by the entrance – which can be viewed at the cover photo for the video clip on Instagram.
Sharing the video to their Instagram, Siena captioned the video with. ‘It was a true honour for Siena Restaurant Dubai to welcome today His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Thank you for your visit.’
Later on in the week, on Thursday, October 15, Sheikh Hamdan was spotted enjoying a lunch at SushiSamba at the St Regis on The Palm. Located high up on the 51st floor, it shows off some pretty cool views of Palm Jumeirah.
SushiSamba posted a photo of Sheikh Hamdan with the team, saying, ‘A special moment for the SUSHISAMBA Dubai team.’
The post added, ‘It was a true honour to welcome His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, to the 51st floor today. Thank you for joining us, @faz3’
SushiSamba has had royal visitors before, including HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

And there’s no wondering why. The restaurant has some of the most incredible views and divine dishes. It also happens to be one of What’s On favourite spots to dine in the city. And it was even listed in our ’50 places we ate at this year and would go back to’ article in the What’s On October 2026 issue. You can read it online here.
