The facility will mainly house the university’s postgraduate students.
Property and construction group Wee Hur Holdings Ltd has secured a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) project at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore.
According to a letter of award from NTU, Wee Hur will design, build, finance, operate, and maintain a new PBSA with about 1,398 beds at the university’s Yunnan Campus.
The facility will mainly house NTU postgraduate students, with a limited allocation of beds for undergraduates.
Upon completion, it is expected to become Singapore’s largest privately developed and operated student accommodation facility within an autonomous university campus, according to Wee Hur.
The project marks the group's entry into the local PBSA market, after Australia and Hong Kong.
Construction is targeted to start in the third quarter of 2027, while operations are expected to commence by the start of the 2029/30 academic year, subject to relevant approvals from NTU and regulatory authorities.
Both parties are finalising the definitive agreement for the project.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW
Reaching the people who run Asia's businesses is harder than it used to be.
Inboxes are crowded. Attention is short. The executives you most want to reach — the founders, CFOs, and operators who actually move budgets — are the hardest to find through the usual channels. If you're building a company, a category, or a reputation, you already know this.
We've spent twenty years building the room they read. Singapore Business Review is where senior decision makers in Singapore and across Southeast Asia come for business coverage they can't get elsewhere — in print, online, and in person at the summits and roundtables we host across seven markets.
If you have something these readers should know about — a point of view worth publishing, a product worth their attention, an event worth their time — we'd like to hear what you're trying to do.
