Four people arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell in connection with the firing case linked to Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff have been brought to Mumbai and are expected to be produced before a court on Thursday.
The accused — Kunal, 21, Sumit, 19, Radha, 23, and Babita, 23 — were brought to Mumbai around 1 am after being taken on transit remand. They were subsequently taken to the Mumbai Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC), where senior officers questioned them.
Police are preparing to question the four alongside three other accused arrested earlier in Rajasthan’s Kota, in an effort to establish the alleged network behind the firing and identify those who planned the attack.
WOMEN ACCUSED SHIFTED TO POLICE STATION LOCK-UP
At around 2 am, the two women accused, Radha and Babita, were moved to the women’s lock-up at Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai. They are being held under the supervision of women police personnel, according to the information provided.
The four accused arrested in Delhi are due to appear in court, where the Anti-Extortion Cell is expected to seek their custody for further questioning.
THREE ACCUSED ARRESTED IN KOTA ALREADY IN POLICE CUSTODY
The latest arrests follow the arrest of three other accused in Kota, Rajasthan. A court has remanded those three to police custody until October 31.
Investigators are now planning to question the two groups together to establish whether they were working as part of the same organised network, determine the motive behind the firing and identify the alleged masterminds.
POLICE PROBE ORGANISED NETWORK
The arrests in Delhi have added another lead to the investigation, which Mumbai Police are pursuing through their Anti-Extortion Cell. Officials are expected to examine the links between the accused and establish the roles each allegedly played in the case.
Further questioning and the court proceedings are expected to help investigators piece together the sequence of events and determine who orchestrated the attack.
