Princess Charlotte has a new pen pal in the form of an eager royal fan from Ilminster. When Prince William was in Somerset town for a royal engagement, a schoolgirl presented the father-of-three with a letter to pass on to his 11-year-old daughter, Charlotte.
After shaking hands with William and handing over her handwritten note, the sweet child explained that she had asked Charlotte "a few questions" in the letter. The queries were her favourite colour, age, and what school she goes to. The little one's mother also explained that they had waited around an hour to greet the royal and she had taken her daughter out of school for the unique opportunity.
While senior royals often send cards and letters back to fans, it is unknown what happens when royal children receive post.

During outings such as their Christmas Day pre-church appearance, royal children are often presented gifts and cards by royal fans. According to official royal gift policy, royal children, including Princess Charlotte, can accept gifts from the public if they fulfil the following criteria: flowers, foodstuff, and other consumable items (within reasonable quantities); copies of books presented by the author, provided the subject matter is not controversial; and other items of small monetary value, i.e. items costing less than £150.

Charlotte's low-key appearance on the tube
At the weekend, Charlotte was spotted with her mother, Princess Catherine, in a casual appearance on the London tube. The royals were spotted by a fellow commuter as they travelled on the apt Elizabeth line through Central London, with a source telling HELLO! that Charlotte looked almost "amazed" as she looked around the carriage.
The pair were seen seated on TfL's newest tube line – opened during the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee year – with their subtle security present.

A source tells us: "They spoke to members of the public sitting across from them. They had security with them and Catherine held Charlotte's hand getting off at Tottenham Court Road. The security didn't make it obvious they were there and they tried to make it as 'normal' as possible.
"Catherine had her phone with her and was looking at her phone for a couple of minutes. They seemed very relaxed and were chatting together, smiling. It was a brief interaction with people opposite them but they seemed very happy."
