New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel didn't appear too happy with the team's overall performance in Sunday's 26-19 win over the New York Jets.
He even went as far as saying they were "lucky" to win.
"Lucky to win… we just didn't play very well," Vrabel told reporters after the game, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller.
It's easy to understand Vrabel's frustrations with the team on a day when they had far too many self-inflicted wounds. They failed to convert on multiple routine plays that would have extended drives. There were also three dropped passes by star wide receiver A.J. Brown and a crucial turnover by running back TreVeyon Henderson.
The defense didn't break, for the most part. However, they did give up a 48-yard touchdown reception to Jets rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. They also got pounded on the ground by Jets backup running back Braelon Allen. To compound all of that, Patriots kicker Andy Borregales whiffed on an extra point that kept the game within reach for the Jets.
It was one of those days when the Patriots didn't have their best stuff, but it was still good enough to come out with a third straight win and improve to 4-2 on the season.
