Islamabad DIG Ali Wasim has ordered strict legal action against people who file false rape cases under the Anti-Rape Act.
He also directed action against the complainants and witnesses in seven cases under the Anti-Rape Act.
According to the DIG, action will be taken against those who register false rape cases, give statements in favor of suspects in exchange for money, or misuse the law for personal gain.
He said legal action will also be taken against anyone who falsely accuses others of rape for personal benefit.
Ali Wasim said the purpose of action under the Anti-Rape Act is to discourage misuse of the law and ensure justice.
He added that providing justice to real victims and protecting the rights of women and citizens remains Islamabad Police’s top priority.
