Netflix has not yet confirmed a fourth season for its successful live-action adaptation of One Piece, but recent hints and clues suggest that fans won't have to wait long to see the Straw Hats back in action. According to new information on the Writers Guild of America (WGA) website, season 4 of Netflix's One Piece could be coming as early as 2027.
Netflix debuted its live-action One Piece series in 2023, and it quickly became one of the most-watched shows on the platform. Considered impossible to adapt, like most other manga and anime series, One Piece proved instead that, no matter the medium and form, the story of Luffy and the Straw Hats will always resonate with audiences. A second season debuted in March 2026, and a third one is slated for release in 2027. But it looks like Netflix's One Piece has no plans to slow down.
Season 4 of Netflix's One Piece could be released between 2027 and 2028
In September 2026, a message shared by the organizer of The One Con, a convention taking place in Paris in November 2026, appeared to accidentally reveal that the cast of One Piece would be getting together again for filming a new season in December 2026. For context, filming for season 3 officially wrapped up on June 30, 2026. Now, new information has surfaced that could confirm that season 4 will be released between 2027 and 2028.
The WGA website has updated its One Piece page, which now lists the staff for season 4, along with a "2027-2028" date. Lacking any statements from Netflix, this should not be considered official confirmation, but it's still interesting info that apparently corroborates the previous leak. The timing also looks coherent with the gap between seasons 2 and 3.
In season 2 of One Piece, the Straw Hats finally reached the Grand Line, "the world's most dangerous sea." There, they found new enemies and challenges awaiting, and also recruited the latest crew member, the adorable reindeer doctor Tony Tony Chopper (Mikaela Hoover). During the course of the season, the Straw Hats also helped Vivi (Charithra Chandran), the princess of the Alabasta kingdom, who is trying to free her country from the influence of the dastardly Baroque Works and its leader, Mr. Crocodile (Joe Manganiello). In season 3, Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and the rest of the crew will go to war for the sake of their new friend and her kingdom.
If season 3 covers the entirety of the Alabasta Arc from the manga, then season 4 could see the Straw Hats headed for Jaya and their most fantastic adventure yet: an island in the sky. Hopefully, if the reports are proven true, fans won't have to wait too long before seeing this new part of the Straw Hats journey on their screens.
