Stylish for a good cause, Queen Camilla sat down on a panel to discuss alongside a moderator at an Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Summit held at the historic Marlborough College on Oct. 23 in Marlborough, Eng. The summit is held to tackle domestic abuse, stalking, and gender-based violence through community and agency collaboration.
Last time we caught up with the queen, she was sporting a trending fall style, a style which she re-wore for her summit appearance. Camilla settled on a pair of chocolate brown suede boots, a slouchy style that the royal has worn on and off over the years. The Russell & Bromley knee-high boots are an Italian-made, equestrian-inspired style crafted of textural smooth suede in a rich brown hue. The silhouette features a front stitched seam, sloping almond toe, a discreet inside zip with an elasticated gusset, and a comfortable two-inch block heel.
Queen Camilla’s shoe choices are often textural and neutral in nature, coordinating with her ensemble of choice. These days, the royal often opts for comfortable styles with shorter heels and cushioned soles that maintain style in the presence of comfort. Sole Bliss is one of those brands Camilla tends to reach for often, specifically the brand’s Ingrid shoe.
The brand’s offerings are sensible and usually feature stretch panels for movement and triple-layer memory foam to cushion the soles. The queen’s signature footwear lineup also includes Ferragamo, Chanel, Eliot Zed, and, of course, Russell & Bromley. You’ll often spot the East Sussex native donning short classic pumps, slouchy knee-high boots or comfortable sneakers for less-formal occasions.
Paired with her chocolate brown booties, Camilla donned a black wool trench coat with button closures fastening the collar in place, layered over what appeared to be a cowl-neck blouse with a floral-esque pattern. On the bottom, the royal sported a light brown suede skirt in an effort to match her footwear. Suede is a staple fabric in fall.
Suede is not only structurally and texturally beautiful, but it also wicks heat, which is perfect for those chilly fall days. Camilla’s skirt was reminiscent of silhouettes one might see from the 70s, a lengthy style that seemed to be around calf-length. As for accessories, it seems Camilla went simple, popping on a pair of pearl earrings. The accessory is another staple for Camilla and a slew of other members of the royal family, since the organic gemstone symbolizes purity, status and dignity.
